Hybrid lash extensions are a great lash service for clients looking for a bit more volume than classic lashes while still keeping a natural look. Most of my hybrid clients have fine natural lashes and find that hybrids are just the extra fluff they need in comparison to a safe classic length and weight. Sometimes classic just doesn’t cut it!
Hybrids combine handmade volume fans with a narrow classic extension for more density at the lash line and beauty fluff.
Like classic lash extensions, each fan is bonded is carefully attached to one single natural lash. Even though this is a more dramatic lash look, every clients’ lashes look different, depending on how much weight their natural lashes can support. As always, each service is custom creating according to your eye shape and desired end result.
Hybrid lashes extensions are more maintenance than classic lashes. They require daily washing, zero mascara, and diligently avoiding certain eye makeup products and oils. Poor aftercare causes the volume fans to wick closed, losing their fluffiness and looking more like clumpy classic lashes (not cute).

After each service, it is important to keep your lashes completely dry (no water, sweat, or steam) and makeup free for 24 hrs.
Do your best to avoid using skin care and makeup around and on the eye that contain oils. This includes eyeliner, eyeshadow primer, eye cream, lash growth serums etc. Oils and silicone based products break down the lash adhesive causing the extensions to pop off. Most of my clients wear little to no eye makeup (except for special occasions).
Hybrid lash extensions should be washed every day. Washing your extensions removes any sweat, oil and/or makeup that comes into contact with the lash adhesive. Daily washing improves retention and avoids buildup which can cause blepharitis (noooooo thanks!).
Skipping your lash aftercare often causes the volume fans to wick closed, looking more like chunky classic lashes than the beautiful fluff that volume is known for!
I sell a gentle foaming lash wash that is specially formulated for use with lash extensions. Please use this diligently for the best retention.

You sure can!
Any makeup products should be oil-free and not contain a lot of silicone. These ingredients break down lash adhesive, resulting in poor retention.
It is also important that you don’t use products that are water-resistant or waterproof. These products leave residue on your lash extensions and are really hard to remove without an oil-based makeup remover. Again, oil + lash extensions = no go.
After wearing eye makeup, you should always deep clean your lash extensions to make sure your lash line and extensions are squeaky clean.
Note: eyeliner and shimmer eye shadow are the most difficult to remove and are the hardest on extensions. Please use these sparingly for the best retention!

Yes and no. While lash extensions can cause damage (we’ve all heard the horror stories by now!), when they are properly applied they are completely safe. In fact, I find that many of my clients’ natural lashes are healthier, stronger, and longer with extensions. This is usually because they aren’t using mascara that can be dehydrating and difficult to remove, resulting in lots of rubbing or picking, which can be hard on natural lashes.
I take my time to meticulously isolate and apply lash extensions one-to-one onto the natural lash. Improper isolation can lead to two or more natural lashes being bonded to one extension. This disrupts the natural lash growth cycle, puts stress on the natural lashes, and often causes damage.
Lash diameter, length, and weight all play a role in natural lash health. Because I hand make all my fans during your fill, I can adjust the weight of each fan depending on where your natural lash is in its growth cycle. The classic lashes in a hybrid set are also fine to help blend into the volume fans, so they are safe for your naturals be default! This also ends up creating texture and additional density - the best of both worlds!

Like all hair, there are three phases to the eyelash growth cycle: growth, resting, and shedding. Each lash is in a different phase at all times. This means that it is completely normal to lose a few lash extensions not long after your full set or fill.
A special occasion one-time full set (wedding, vacation etc.) can last up to 4+ weeks, depending on aftercare.
My regular clients book their fills every 2-3 weeks, depending on the fullness of their natural lashes and their retention. It is expected that clients should have a minimum of 40% of their lash extensions remaining to be considered a fill.
